My name is Heather. 

 

In September 2020, I moved from my family home in Glasgow to Lochalsh area of the Scottish Highlands. Trading city life in the city to rural Scotland life has been a big step, but something that I have really fallen in love with. What I quickly realised is how much there is to explore in the Scottish Highlands, and how few people have actually shared their adventures in this incredible part of Scotland. 

 

So this is where this blog comes in! Heather and the Highlands is a place where I really want to take the time to explore all the nooks and crannies of this amazing Scottish wilderness. From the mountainous regions to the coastal areas, towns and cities to teeny villages, I hope this will be a place to showcase just how wonderful and diverse the Scottish Highlands (and their surrounding areas) are!

Some more about me: I'm a Christian. Jesus Christ has played a massive role throughout my life and led me to the point where I am at now. I really hope I can also use this space to share my own faith and how my hope in Jesus affects my day to day life. You can find my faith reflections on this space here.
