I don't know about you, but this Christmas, despite all the festivities and fun that comes with the season, there's a certain weariness that I'm feeling. I think a lot of it has to do with the constant negativity in the news, but I do also find this time of year difficult with the dark mornings and constant dreary weather. I think this line is one of the reasons I love this song so much.

It's been a few years since the last time I shared an Advent blogpost series here on Heather and the Highlands, but I thought the time was right to bring back a wee Advent series in the run up to Christmas. This year, I'm going to focus on one of my favourite Christmas songs, O Holy Night. The beginning of the song is a part that I skip over a lot of the time, but I actually think of
