What about after Christmas?

"Christ is the Lord, O Praise His Name Forever,
His Power and Glory evermore proclaim
His Power and Glory evermore proclaim."
Even as a little girl, I always loved Christmas. I loved the chance to get dressed up and share and receive presents with family and friends. I loved the chance to listen to Christmas music and singing carols at church. I love the traditions and the food and movies.
And then its all over.
And although I love this in between period between Christmas and New Year, I do always feel a sense of the blues when Christmas is over for another year.
That's why I find this final refrain in O Holy Night so encouraging. For the Christian, the baby being born in a stable in Bethlehem isn't actually the end of the story. That baby would go on to become Jesus, the teacher and miracle worker we read about in the Gospels. His life would become influential and controversial of all time. He was brutally killed, despite being innocent.
Yet, three days later He would rise again and for thousands of years since, people have been calling Jesus Christ their Lord. And that's what gives me so much joy even after the celebrations of Christmas are over.
"The seventh angel sounded his trumpet, and there were loud voices in heaven, which said:
"The Kingdom of the world has become the Kingdom of our Lord and of His Messiah, and He will reign for ever and ever."
Revelation 11:15
Jesus is still reigning and ruling and His power and glory I shall evermore proclaim!
