All Good Things

"Now may the God of peace, who brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, the great shepherd of the sheep, by the blood of the eternal covenant, equip you with everything good that you may do His will, working in us that which is pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen"

Hebrews 13:20-21

Over the last few years, I've come to really love the prayers that you find throughout the letters in the New Testament. Whenever I come across one, I note it down and pray it for myself and for those around me.

I found this prayer in Hebrews last week as I was finishing off reading through this letter. As I've been reflecting on it over the last week, I've been refelcting on the goodness of God throughout my life. God has been good in the past, He has been good now and I can trust that He will continue to show me His goodness for many years to come. Although it can sometimes be hard to see the hand of God showing me kindness throughout my life, when I look back, I see His eternal goodness and kindness.

Jesus is the Good Shepherd. He is the One who will lead us and guide us along the good path. All I need to do is follow Him along the way.
