Truth for a Troubled Heart

"Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me".

John 14:1

In this world, it's so easy to let for our hearts be troubled. There's just also so much going on in the world. Good things. Bad things. Beautiful things. Ugly things. Things that make you laugh. Things that make you cry. Things that make you simply feel numb.

On the last night before His gruesome death, just after He had told His disciples that He would be leaving them very soon, Jesus tells His disciples this beautiful truth. If they believe in Him, believe in who He says He is and what He says about Himself, their hearts should not be troubled.

In a time of everyday turmoil such as this, this is the promise I'm clinging onto. I know I don't need to be troubled because God is with me. If I believe in Him, no matter what the world looks like, I can face tomorrow.
