Love and Peace

ree

Truly He taught us to love one another,

His Law is Love and His Gospel is Peace

Love and peace are two things we're all striving for at Christmas time. We would all love to have some time to relax and enjoy the company of those around us, or maybe to go and enjoy the company of those who live far away from us.

Peace is another aspect of Christmas time that we're all striving for in some way. We're all looking for a chance to have a bit of peace and quiet during the days off that some of us enjoy over the Fearive period. The chance to read a good book. These chance to have a lie in. The chance to enjoy a game or walk or a couple of good movies.

The peace that this part of O Holy Night is talking about here isn't quite the same as that. It's a peace that lasts longer than a few minutes, longer even than the Christmas holidays. It's a peace that transcends even further and longer than we can even imagine on this earth.

Its a peace that lasts longer than we can even comprehend. A peace that is transformative and a peace that leaves the world completely changed. The Jesus, the Prince of Peace, brings His peace into the world and the world has not been the same since.

"Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid."

John 14:27
