Peace to Sleep in the Storm

"In peace I will lie down and sleep, for you alone, Lord, make me dwell in safety."

Psalm 4:8

Last week in the Scottish Highlands, the first big storm of the season, Storm Amy, hit hard. Some parts of the Scottish Highlands were hit with winds at 100mph. Trees came down. Powerlines came down. Our house was without power for almost 24 hours, and we weren't even the worst affected. It was a big storm.

Unlike a lot of people, storms make me really anxious. Although so many people find comfort in being in the safety of their home on a stormy evening, I'm not one of those people. I find the chaos of a storm nerve-wracking and the unpredicablity of the force of the wind and rain stressful. I'm not someone who enjoys those kinds of evenings.
