My Favourite Brunch and Lunch Spots on the Isle of Skye

My favourite meal of the day!
If I had to pick a meal that I love to enjoy most on the Isle of Skye, it would have to be brunch (and lunch).
The reason I have lumped brunch and lunch together in this post is that I know not everybody is a sweet brunch person. If I'm being totally honest, I think I'm more of a savoury brunch person than a sweet brunch person, whearas my husband is the complete opposite. So we do often get the best of both worlds.

Cafe Cuil, Satran
Ahh Cafe Cuil! I remember when this magical spot with the red roof opened on the island, and it's been one of my favourite spots to visit since. Over the years, we've visited Cafe Cuil a number of times throughout the year (including for a special festive brunch menu they did in 2023) and I've loved being able to try a variety of different brunch items over the years.

If I was to pick one dish, though, that was my absolute favourite, it would have to be this dish from their spring menu. It was burrata on toast, with Scottish chorizo, stewed tomatoes and wild garlic pesto. I had it last spring and I'm still dreaming we can get up to visit this spring to enjoy it again.
Cafe Cuil is open Wednesday to Sunday, from 10am to 4pm from March to November.
The Hungry Gull, Staffin
The Hungry Gull was one of my favourite spots I discovered in 2025. Set in Staffin Community Hall, The Hungry Gull is a quirky wee spot with so much charm.
We visited last March on their first day of the season and enjoyed a really fantastic brunch there. I chose Turkish eggs for my lunch whilst Finlay had a fish finger sandwich. If I was to visit in 2026, some of the highlights of the menu for me would be their Black Pudding Benedict and their Smokey Pork Shoulder Hash. I hope I get to return again in 2026.
The Hungry Gull is open Wednesday to Saturday, from 10am-3:30pm.
The Coffee Bothy, Broadford
If sweet treats are your thing, the Coffee Bothy is the place for you. This cute spot in Broadford opened a couple of years ago and the cake scene on Skye hasn't been the same since. We love popping in for some pancakes or French toast (for my sweet brunch loving husband) or a hearty bowl of soup (for the more savoury brunch lover that I am)
If you're looking for something that suits everyone (including those with dietry requirements) The Coffee Bothy is a fantastic location. They regularly have options for those with allergies and intolerances, so it's often a spot we'll visit with friends who struggle to find delicious treats to suit their diets.
The Coffee Bothy is currently open 10:30am-4pm, Friday to Monday.
Cafe 1925, Ardvasar
If you're catching the ferry from Mallaig to Skye, this spot 2 minutes from the Armadale ferry terminal is a fanastic place to stop. Cafe 1925 serves brunch and lunch options, as well as homemade cakes.
We visited in February 2026 before heading out to find a beautiful sandy beach on the Sleat Peninsula and it was the best kind of food to fuel up with before our walk. I enjoyed some delicious roasted red pepper and tomato soup, whilst Finlay had a goat's cheese salad. We can't wait to visit again at some point soon.
Cafe 1925 is currently open 9am to 3pm, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Bog Myrtle, Struan
Bog Myrtle might just be one of the cosiest little cafe I've ever visited. It's one of the spots I love to visit with a book and a long afternoon in front of me. They have an incredible array of fresh seasonal food focussing on vegetarian flavours. It's such a great spot to go to on a rainy day and somewhere I can't wait to return to.
If cinnamon buns are your thing (they certainly are my thing) then I highly recommend making sure you get to Bog Myrtle in enough time to try their incredible sourdough cinnamon buns.
Bog Myrtle are currently open 10am-3:30pm, Wednesday to Saturday.
