My Favourite Brunch and Lunch Spots on the Isle of Skye
My favourite meal of the day! If I had to pick a meal that I love to enjoy most on the Isle of Skye, it would have to be brunch (and lunch). The reason I have lumped brunch and lunch together in this post is that I know not everybody is a sweet brunch person. If I'm being totally honest, I think I'm more of a savoury brunch person than a sweet brunch person, whearas my husband is the complete opposite. So we do often get the best of both worlds. Camus Daraich Beach, Isle of Skye
A couple of years ago, I took one of my friends on an adventure to the Point of Sleat. It's been one of my favourite walks in the Highlands to date, and definitely one of my favourite walks we've found on the Isle of Skye. During that adventure, though, we took a bit of a detour and actually ended up missing a beach at the end of the walk. It was only after we finished the walk that we realised we had missed out on Camus Daraich Beach, a beautiful white sandy beach on the is

Cafe 1925, Isle of Skye
If you've been reading my blog for a number of years now, you'll know how much I love the Sleat Peninsula on the Isle of Skye. It's such an incredible corner of the Isle of Skye that I've loved exploring and getting to know better since moving to the Scottish Highlands five years ago. At this time of year, when the busy summer season is still a long way off, one of my favourite things to do is get out and explore the places we often tell tourists to visit, but don't always g

What's March Really Like in the Scottish Highlands
After four months of gloom, darkness and cold, Spring has fully arrived in the Scottish Highlands! At the beginning of March, we start to wake up in light again after months of waking up in darkness. The snowdrops are fully in blown and the first daffodils are starting to come through. Hopefully by the end of the month, we'll start to see the first spring lambs here in the Scottish Highlands! March is a really interesting month for those of us that live here in the Scottish H

Glenbrittle Beach, Isle of Skye
One of my biggest discoveries since moving to the Scottish Highlands has been my love for beaches. I would never have called myself a beach lover before moving here, but over the years I have discovered so many incredible beaches throughout the Highlands and Islands ( many of them I've shared about on this space ). On a recent delivery run to the Isle of Skye, we decided to take a wee detour down to Glenbrittle Beach. It's a beach I've never braved the road down to for one re

What's January Really like in the Scottish Highlands
January in the Scottish Highlands. It's a time of year that challenges all of us who call this beautiful region home. The festivities of the Christmas period are over for another year, yet we are still in the depths of winter. In many ways, I would say January is the quietest month here in the Scottish Highlands. It's a month when a lot of businesses close for a seasonal break. This also might mean you may struggle to find coffee shops, restaurants, shops and hotels open if y

What's November Really Like in the Scottish Highlands
November really feels like the moment when winter really starts in the Scottish Highlands. The tempreture really dips at the start of November and the darker days draw in, making it a really wintery feeling month. November is a month of fairly changeable weather. In 2023, November was still fairly autumnal, with weather staying fairly mild for most of the month. That was the year we went to Coral Beach on the Isle of Skye . It was a beautiful autumnal day, when you didn't nee
